Reminder from The Library - Anthology (Pick a Previous Book)

Here's a little reminder from The Library - but your books aren't overdue and there'll certainly be no fines!

It's just a reminder to join in the current challenge - 'Anthology '  - which runs till January 12th. The challenge is to pick any book that has been a challenge at The Library in 2018.

You can see all the books in the original challenge post.

I made another card for this theme (above) - and the book I brought back is Where the Wild Things Are.

According to a new study, the hallowed practice of bedtime reading is falling by the wayside — and that some quarter of a million children do not own a single book. This is a terrible shame, as regular bedtime stories have been shown to increase children’s performance in school, and are also awesome and can help create strong lifetime bonds, both with literature and with parents.

More details on my blog.

I hope you'll join in the challenge.

Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort." - J.R.R. Tolkien - The Hobbit I read this first in the 2nd grade. I love Tolkein.Image result for watership down

Memoirs of a GeishaThe Hundred and One Dalmations Such beautiful illustrations and such a wonderful, imaginative story. I loved the bit when they stayed with Sir Charles and his elderly spaniel. He thought he was seeing ghost dogs from his youth.Plenty More by Yotam Ottolenghi I picked up a signed copy from Ottolenghi Islington. It's a total bliss.
Brideshead Revisited, Evelyn Waugh. File this under "gorgeous novel." Perfect pick for Downton fans.“Never love a wild thing...If you let yourself love a wild thing, you'll end up looking at the sky.”According to a new study, the hallowed practice of bedtime reading is falling by the wayside — and that some quarter of a million children do not own a single book. Librarian's Choice - From Time to Time

Thanks for visiting The Library ... where The Librarian will be getting fined for a late return...sorry!

Our Visiting Librarian,  Lynn  (aka Linby) , has now returned to her own bookshelves but before she left we picked out a couple of entries to display in The Library:

Heather H  was inspired by the cover to make a cityscape with a beautifully coloured background.:

A textured background and a shiny focal image give Robyn's  card lots of interest:

I hope you will copy the badge (above) to your blogs.

We have two current challenges - The Snowman  - which  is still open for another week and - Anthology (Pick a Previous Book)  which has just started.

Librarian's Choice - Bridget Jones's Diary

We had a fabulous selection of fun, colourful and (often) drinks-themed cards in this challenge. Here are a couple that caught my eye:

Lorraine entered two wonderful cards using this stamp and she's really captured the fun of a 'girls night out'.

The bright pink glasses, the gold doily, the New Year sentiment - Stef made a great 'celebration' card.

I made another card for this theme:

I used some buildings - although I don't think they're in New York! - and the word 'time'.

Please come back to The Library on December 9th for a new challenge - and you'll be walking on air when you find out what it is.
