Librarian's Choice - Challenge Two - The Hobbit

Thank you so much for all the beautiful entries into The Hobbit challenge. When I first decided to start this challenge, I had no idea just how difficult the Librarian's Choice would be.

So once again, I've not chosen  the entries that were 'the best'; I've just highlighted a few that have interpreted the theme in different ways. 

Stephanie showed her familiarity with the book by combining different sentiment sets to recreate The Hobbit's alternative title. 

Claire  played with the title and the cover on this fun card. 

Linby used a great technique to evoke the cover art. 

Finally, how could I omit this amazing 3d hobbit hole, created by Papierelles   son?

Reminder from The Library (and a hint about challenge 4)

Here's a little reminder from The Library - but your books aren't overdue and there'll certainly be no fines! 

It's just a reminder to join in the current challenge - 'Watership Down' - which runs till April 7th .
Challenge 4 starts on Sunday April 1st and it's a historical novel set in Asia.

Librarian's Choice - Challenge One - Pride and Prejudice

I was blown away by the beautiful, creative entries into The Library's first challenge. It would be impossible for me to judge which entries were the best (or even to pick my favourites - I loved them all) so I won't even try. Instead, I've decided to highlight three entries that captured the spirit of the challenge.

Karen actually owns some Jane Austen stamps, and she used them to make this wonderful CAS card.

SmilylinStef made a fabulous recreation of the book cover.

Dotty Jo  made a funny but stylish card, recalling our collective crush on Mr Darcy.

I also loved the stunning peacock-themed card ,cards where the peacocks were replaced by parrots or flowers, and those entries that evoked the regency period or romance in general. Thank you to every single crafter who entered.

Challenge Two is a children's classic , The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien.

This cover is from the first edition of the book and was drawn by Tolkien himself. 

If you've not read the book (or seen the film), the story has small human-like creatures such as hobbits,  elves , dwarves and goblins plus a wizard and  a dragon - even fairies get a mention. It's set in Middle Earth, which seems to have a lot of mountains and woodlands.
